Flower & Decoration Policy

Flowers

To maintain the respectable and clean condition of grounds

  • Glass containers are not allowed at any district cemetery

  • All non-glass containers are required to be buried in the ground to protect from movement from wind

  • Cut flowers should be removed within 10 days of being placed

  • Artificial flowers should be removed or replaced when the show signs of wear

  • Flowers may be removed by district personnel as necessary

  • Winter holiday decorations should be removed by April 1 and Easter decorations by July 1.

Grave Decorations

Objects may be placed on grave sites as long as they remain in good condition and do not pose a health or liability issue, including but not limited to:

  • Statuary

  • Coins

  • Artwork

  • Photos

  • Flags (do not use American Legion flag holders)

  • and Other Memorabilia

Memorial Benches

Memorial benches are considered gifts to the District

  • Must be constructed of concrete, stone, or heavy metal (no wood or plastic

  • Benches shall be located in public access areas at the discretion of the District

  • Benches can only be located at grave sites where two or more contiguous plots under the same ownership, permanently affixed to the site, and approved by the District
