Heritage Ghost Walks

Learn about unique features, facts, and what makes Big Pine Cemeteries historical

Past Events

A total of six annual Heritage Ghost Walks were held during a weekend afternoon each October between 2013 and 2018 to help raise funds for cemetery improvements. Volunteers prepared stories describing “residents” in the Crocker Cemetery and dressed in period costumes creating fun and authenticity for all that participated.

The ticketed events were held at the Crocker Cemetery and for a small entrance fee visitors were guided through a series of locations throughout the cemetery to learn about the lives of early settlers, miners, farmers, local historical figures, and shopkeepers. Each year, new stories were prepared and presented connecting Big Pine’s history with the community.

Future Events

While there are no current plans to “resurrect” these walks, it may be considered based on interest. It takes a number of volunteers to plan and host an event. If you would like to volunteer, please let us know by clicking the link to keep you in the loop.
